“Concentus” for 5 voices and instruments

Donna has worked as a singer and violist with Nick Cave, Tricky, Moby and Michael Nyman. She was a member of Miranda Sex Garden and worked for Derek Jarman on his final film, Blue. After Jarman’s death, Donna set a number of the poems that appeared in his diary for voices, viola and cello. The resulting album, Translucence, was released on Warner Classics to widespread critical acclaim, performed around the world and here in London at The Tate Britain and The City of London Festival with Michael Chance.

She was recently commissioned by The Yorke Dance Company as part of The Cohan Collective to create a new work – Self– with choreographer Charlotte Edmonds, which was premiered at The Lillian Baylis Studio, Sadler’s Wells. Donna has written the score for a production of Strindberg’s Miss Julie broadcast on BBC Radio Four and has recently been awarded a residency at The Aldeburgh Festival.

Donna has contributed film scores and soundtracks for the fashion house Bodyamr, London and Paris Fashion Weeks, Jaeger, Vogue, Kate Spade and River Island. Her work has been broadcast on BBC Radio 1,2,3,4 and 6 Music, as well as WNYC in the US who also broadcast a retrospective of her work in 2012.

In 2011 Donna was commissioned to write for the large scale dance work Compass which was performed at Sadler’s Wells. The following year she scored her first feature film, The Fold, for director John Jencks and The Electric Shadow Company. Last year she released the EPs Cut and This is what I wanted to give you… the setting of five poems by poet Jan Noble.

Donna has written the score for the film projects Borders for director Ken McMullen and for the score John Stanley’s epic music documentary series Time of Our Lives.

Currently she is producing and composing music for a work based on Marcel Duchamp’s painting Nude Descending a Staircase with moving image artist Alexa Seligman and choreographer Phil Sanger. The piece will be premiered this year at The Mayfair Arts Weekend in London.

She has released three new singles this year for Left Out Records.
